Hi there, I’m Iris! Music has been my passion for 12 years, through many highs, challenges, and growth. Raised in California, my initial path was Biomedical Science, and while I studied classical piano and Yamaha music there, a music career didn’t seem likely in my world. Still, I felt a pull: could I write songs like those playing on the radio?
That curiosity led me to pop songwriting classes, where an inspiring mentor sparked my love for songwriting and arranging. Music overtook science, and despite uncertainty and limited industry connections, I took a leap to pursue it full-time. Since then, I’ve written for artists, festivals, musicals, films, and TV.
Now, I’m dedicated to using music to uplift families, communities, and emerging talent. Songs have a unique power to capture memories and emotions like nothing else. With Like A Star, I look forward to creating unforgettable moments for you and your loved ones!

Hello, Iris here! I’ve been passionate about creating music for the past 12 years, a journey marked by ups and downs, but filled with growth and blessings. I grew up in Malaysia, where I initially planned to pursue a career in Biomedical Science. Despite studying classical piano and Yamaha music, I never considered a music career due to the emphasis on stable career paths in my environment. However, an inner voice always wondered if I could write music like the songs I heard on the radio. This curiosity led me to a pop songwriting course, where I met a great teacher who inspired me to become a songwriter and arranger. I realized my passion for music surpassed my interest in science, so I decided to pursue music full-time, despite the doubts and limited connections at the time. Looking back, I’m deeply thankful for the chance to create music for artists, festivals, musicals, films and TV series. Now, I’m at a point where I yearn to use my music to touch communities, families, and young talents. Music has a unique power to evoke memories and capture moments like few other art forms. At Like A Star, I look forward to craft beautiful moments and lasting memories with you and your loved ones!
